Legislative District 31
William Sampson and Jerry Walker are the Democratic candidates for New Jersey Assembly committed to delivering real results—raising wages, easing the cost of living, providing meaningful tax relief, and protecting your rights from extremist attacks coming out of Washington.
William B. Sampson IV
Democrat for Assembly
A Bayonne native and proud graduate of Bayonne High School, William Sampson IV earned an athletic scholarship to Clark Atlanta University before becoming a crane operator and union leader at Bayonne Global Container Terminal. As a member of ILA Local 1588 and Vice President of the Hudson County chapter of the A. Philip Randolph Institute, Will has long been a champion for workers’ rights and racial justice.
Elected to the New Jersey General Assembly in 2022, he made history as the first African American from Bayonne to serve in the Legislature. He currently serves as Deputy Speaker, Chair of the Consumer Affairs Committee, and Vice Chair of the Labor Committee.
Will remains committed to fighting for working families, economic fairness, and a better future for all New Jerseyans—both through legislation and his nonprofit, the William Sampson Civic Association.
Jerry Walker
Democrat for Assembly
A lifelong Jersey City resident, Jerry Walker is the co-founder and CEO of Team Walker, a nonprofit serving over 500 local youth with academic, athletic, and life-skills programs. A graduate of Seton Hall University, he also mentors student-athletes and works with Jersey City’s Department of Recreation.
